Orphans
Our Children
(Orphans Rescued and Loved)
Hello, my name is Jim Thornton, I'm an Evangelist from the United States. I been working with Word of Life Kenya to help feed starving kids in Africa for years. The need here is desperate, and I want to make a personal appeal for you to consider partnering with Word of Life Kenya as well.
Pastor Dan Amakobe is the founder of Word of Life Kenya, and is a personal friend of mine. I am happy to be a part of what Word of Life Kenya is doing to help feed starving kids.
Word of life Kenya has over 60 churches planted throughout Kenya, and has rescued orphans in those areas. Many of these kids live in what are called "Overseer Homes". These are poor families that attend Word of Life Churches, who have taken on the additional burden of the rescued kids who have lost their natural mom's and dads, with a promise from the church to try and do what they can to help.
Bungoma and Nakuru Kenya are the two locations where many of the kids live. In Bungoma, Word of Life currently has 450 rescued orphans they are responsible for in a facility they partner with called "Little Angels". In Nakuru, 100 rescued kids live in Overseers Homes. Each month Word of Life Kenya, through partners like us, helps to provide thousands of meals to the kids. I have personally helped with this many times, and have brought ministry teams from the USA to personally be a part of preparing meals and feeding the kids and overseers. It is such a wonderful and fulfilling experience to be a part of feeding some of the poorest of the poor in the world. But despite all that we are doing, the unfortunate fact is that many of the kids we are helping still often go to bed hungry each night. As a matter of fact, many of the kids can still go two or three days before their next meals, and we are asking for you to help Word of Life Kenya continue to change this.
“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25:40). Thank you for your generosity, and God bless you so much.
